Good value for a first-timer

I was looking for a good deal on a grooming service for my cat, Mittens. The Pet Ministry offered a trial price for the Microbubble Spa, which I combined with a Basic Grooming. It saved me a good bit compared to other places I checked. Mittens seemed calm afterwards, and her fur was super soft. It felt worth the money I spent.

Consistent service, always good

I've brought my poodle, Charlie, here for Full Grooming several times now. They always do a great job; Charlie looks fantastic and smells fresh for weeks. The staff remembers him, which is a nice touch. Their quality hasn't dipped at all since my first visit, which I appreciate.

Smooth booking, detailed care for our pug

I booked a Full Grooming for our pug, Puddles, and also added a Mud Mask Treatment. The online booking system was straightforward; I got a confirmation quickly. We opted for their Pet Transport Service, which was punctual, picking up Puddles right on time. During the grooming, they called to clarify a detail about his nail length, which I thought was attentive. When Puddles came back, his skin looked much healthier, and his coat was really shiny. I also bought some Premium Dog Food that they recommended, and Puddles seems to like it. My only slight critique was that the transport took about an hour longer than estimated to get him back home, but it wasn't a huge issue.

I'm thinking about getting a grooming package for my dog. Do the credits for sessions expire, or can I use them whenever?

J Jared N. 1 month ago
Yeah, packages usually have a validity period. You gotta use them within a certain timeframe, like 6 months or a year. Check with them for specifics.

Most package deals from any groomer will have an expiry. So don't buy a huge one if you won't use it up fast.

Does Pet Ministry offer any kind of discount for first-time customers on grooming services? Or should I look for a package deal instead?

K Kevin B. 1 month ago
They almost always have a first-timer discount for grooming. I think I got 10% off my first session.

Yeah, there's usually a new customer offer. You can ask them when you book, or sometimes it's on their website banner. Packages save more if you're planning regular visits though.

Is Pet Ministry like, actually good compared to Pet Lovers Centre? Heard mixed things about PLC grooming.

D Daisy Osei 4 weeks ago
I've used both and Pet Ministry feels more premium. PLC is fine for basic stuff but Pet Ministry does a better job with styling and they use nicer products.

Totally different vibe. Pet Ministry is more like a spa, PLC is more factory line sometimes. If you want individual attention and a really good finish, I'd go with Pet Ministry.

Hey, wondering if anyone's done the microbubble spa here? Is it really worth it for my dog's skin issues or just a fancy bath?

C Chris 1 month ago
My pug had really itchy skin and it helped a lot, definitely saw an improvement after a few sessions. Worth trying the trial price.

Yeah, my schnauzer gets it every now and then. It's supposed to get really deep into the pores and clean them out. Not just fluff, it seems to make a difference for his flaky bits.

Does The Pet Ministry do pet transport? My car is too small for my giant golden retriever.

A Anna K. 1 month ago
They do offer transport! You'd have to arrange it with them in advance though.

Yep, I've seen their van. Definitely ask about the transport service when you book, saves a lot of hassle.

Thinking of trying out Pet Ministry for my poodle's full groom. Any idea how long a session usually takes for a medium-sized dog?

A Anna J. 1 month ago
For a full groom, they usually take a few hours. Like 2-4 depending on the dog's coat and how cooperative they are. They'll tell you when to pick up.

Mine's a maltese, so smaller, but it was about 2.5 hours. They're pretty thorough though so it's not super quick.

Can I use a birthday month discount AND a referral credit for the same grooming appointment, or is it one deal per visit?

T Tara 1 month ago
Nah, pretty sure you can only use one promo at a time. Most places are like that.

C Cody N. 1 month ago
My understanding is they usually don't let you stack discounts. So pick the better one for that visit, then save the other for next time maybe?

Anyone know if they use specific shampoos for sensitive skin? My dog gets really itchy with regular stuff.

C Chris 1 month ago
They do! My terrier has super sensitive skin and they use special hypoallergenic stuff. Just mention it when you book.

I think they have medicated options or at least very gentle ones. Just ask them when you drop off, they're usually good about that.
